About

We are searching for passionate engineers, developers, quants, financial engineers and traders to be part of one of the largest open-source initiatives in crypto and the blockchain space. This hackathon is one of our initiatives to find amazing talent.

Last week, we reached a significant milestone — Project L3 Atom (the world’s first open crypto data initiative) Our next big milestone involves the world’s first all-in-one quant research & algorithmic trading solution for both centralised and decentralised exchanges.

We are extremely passionate about building web 3.0 open source tools to innovate. M2M, blockchain, and crypto are the future. All of our proprietary tech will be given to the community for free under an Open License. Yes, no catch. We are true believers of the spirit of crypto and blockchain — the economic freedom, where everyone should have access to financial freedom. We are dedicated to making a difference. All of our R&D and operations are available for the public to verify.

If this is something you are passionate about, we strongly encourage you to apply for this hackathon.

Competitions

Programming Competition (5–7 Jan)

This challenge will involve optimisation problems for either C++ or Python code to be interfaced with our open crypto data initiative framework.

ML Competition (22–24 Dec & 5–7 Jan)

This challenge will involve implementing machine learning techniques to solve a computer vision problem for technical analysis, similar to our own ACPRI tool.

Trading Competition (3–5 Jan)

Individuals will be given training in proprietary systematic trading and using this approach, the competition will be run on BTC/USD futures on the Bybit exchange.

Data Science Competition (22–24 Dec)

The challenge will see you working with current crypto data and traditional market data to solve a data science-based predictive analytics task. The task will also involve data streams from our own open data initiative framework.

Blockchain Competition (28–30 Dec)

This challenge will involve the creation of high throughput execution smart contract adapters compatible with ecosystems such as Ethereum, Solana and Fantom — similar to those developed by Hummingbot.

What to Expect?

You’ll work hard while having fun during some downtime. There will be social events and opportunities to just hang out and chat about bleeding-edge technologies. Some of our best work has come from those random moments chillin’ with the team.

These events are exclusive and only open to selected candidates that have applied. If you have not yet applied, you can start the process by following the link. Applications will close on the 20th of December. While it is recommended that participants have prior knowledge about blockchain technologies, it is not mandatory. However, we do require knowledge of your respective field. The challenges will be closely related to the work we are doing here at GDA Fund. If you would like some context, visit our website and read our articles on Medium. When attending the events, you are only required to bring a laptop and your charger. Participants will have 24-hour access to the event spaces and there will be support for continuing remote participation depending on other team members. Industry professionals will be on hand to provide supervision and answer any questions during the challenges.

At the conclusion of the events, in addition to remuneration and prizes, participants will receive recommendation letters certifying their participation in the event. Of course, the reason we host these events is to find amazing, talented people. GDA Fund has part-time and full-time employment opportunities which will be offered to the best participants.

Those who are offered employment will receive valuable training from industry professionals. If you are a university student that requires industry experience for your degree, we are also willing to work with your faculty to have your time spent during these events credited towards your degree.

Agenda

The events will start on the 21st December and continue until the 9th of January. On the first day, candidates will be divided into small teams of three to complete activities. Attendance on the first day is compulsory.
